Wedding Bells!

No, not ours! My brother Andrew got married on April 10th (to a great girl, I might add!) All 4 of us were in the wedding: Abe and Owen as groomsmen, Lauren as the flower girl, and I was one of the bridesmaids. The kids looked so cute all dressed up...and they thought they were pretty hot stuff too!

Easter in the snow

We spent Easter weekend in Cashmere, and the weather decided to revert back to winter while we were there. Owen and Lauren threw on their boots, hats, and coats as soon as we got there and, with Grampa's help, made a snow bunny. It turned out really cute, but started melting the next day. Luckily the snow had disappeared in time for the kids to have an Easter egg hunt, but the snow bunny hung in there for a few more days!

Disneyland

We took a few days at the end of March and headed to Disneyland. We got there on a Wed. evening and went to the park early the next morning. The next 3 days were filled with rides, meeting characters, and swimming at the hotel pool. The kids were troopers and went on all the rides...Owen loved the Matterhorn and Lauren's favorite was Splash Mountain. We all had a blast and can't wait to go back!

Cookies, Cookies, Cookies!

When I offered to make cookies for all the basketball players, I didn't really think about how many cookies that would actually entail. About 100 basketball cookies later, I was finished! Lauren donned her apron to help, and we whipped through them in hardly any time at all. Next year, it may just be the C Squad that gets them, not all 3 teams...

So proud!

Owen got a special award last week at his school's assembly for learning att 350 sight words! It was a surprise to him...he didn't know he was getting am award OR that I had someone cover my class so I could go watch him. He was so excited, and I was very proud!

Cheerleading camp

Lauren and her friend Clare soent a Saturday afternoon at cheer camp at Auburn High School. They had a great time with all the "big" cheerleaders! In fact, when we picked them up for dinner, they were already eating pizza with the other girls and didn't want to leave. Lauren still talks about it, and both she and Clare said they are going to camp every year.

Sledding Fun

Christmas in Cashmere

Christmas morning arrived early (about 5:00!) but the kids were ready to go! Santa managed to find them at Gramma and Grampa's house although he must have had his fill of cookies at other houses because there were quite a few left on the plate. The reindeer loved the carrots and Ranch the kids left for them though!

Christmas Eve Festivities

Mim, Pops, and Auntie Abbie came over on Christmas Eve for brunch and opening presents. Lauren loved her princess attire, and the whoopie cushion was a huge hit with Owen! After presents we went to Cheesecake Factory, where the Heinens met us for lunch, then we hit the Christmas Eve service at church before heading over the mountains to Cashmere.

We managed to squeeze in a trip to Zoolights in the midst of the busy Christmas schedule. We went with Mim, Pops, and Auntie Abbie. It was really cold, but the kids had a great time, as they always do at the zoo!

Frost+spiderweb= very cool picture!

Lauren was planning on being Raggedy Ann again this year for Halloween, but changed her mind at the last minute when she realized she didn't fit the "football" theme like the rest of the family did. So, we ended up with a ref, a Texas Longhorn football player, Trojan cheerleader, and, last but not least, a penalty flag. Abe's costume didn't stay on too long (it was scaring the little kids), but we managed to get a few pics as proof!
