So proud!

Owen got a special award last week at his school's assembly for learning att 350 sight words! It was a surprise to him...he didn't know he was getting am award OR that I had someone cover my class so I could go watch him. He was so excited, and I was very proud!

Cheerleading camp

Lauren and her friend Clare soent a Saturday afternoon at cheer camp at Auburn High School. They had a great time with all the "big" cheerleaders! In fact, when we picked them up for dinner, they were already eating pizza with the other girls and didn't want to leave. Lauren still talks about it, and both she and Clare said they are going to camp every year.

Sledding Fun

Christmas in Cashmere

Christmas morning arrived early (about 5:00!) but the kids were ready to go! Santa managed to find them at Gramma and Grampa's house although he must have had his fill of cookies at other houses because there were quite a few left on the plate. The reindeer loved the carrots and Ranch the kids left for them though!

Christmas Eve Festivities

Mim, Pops, and Auntie Abbie came over on Christmas Eve for brunch and opening presents. Lauren loved her princess attire, and the whoopie cushion was a huge hit with Owen! After presents we went to Cheesecake Factory, where the Heinens met us for lunch, then we hit the Christmas Eve service at church before heading over the mountains to Cashmere.

We managed to squeeze in a trip to Zoolights in the midst of the busy Christmas schedule. We went with Mim, Pops, and Auntie Abbie. It was really cold, but the kids had a great time, as they always do at the zoo!

Frost+spiderweb= very cool picture!

Lauren was planning on being Raggedy Ann again this year for Halloween, but changed her mind at the last minute when she realized she didn't fit the "football" theme like the rest of the family did. So, we ended up with a ref, a Texas Longhorn football player, Trojan cheerleader, and, last but not least, a penalty flag. Abe's costume didn't stay on too long (it was scaring the little kids), but we managed to get a few pics as proof!
